Joy.

19 04 2012

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:4-7

Being reminded of what we are to do. In the mundane everyday of this small-town livin’… I need to rejoice. Even in this season when a whole lot of nothing seems to be going on. I am rejoicing for all the goodness Jesus has done and that the Lord has allowed into my life. I’m rejoicing for the friends who continue to pursue and push me towards Christ. Who ask the hard questions and challenge me back to Christ. I’m thankful for family that I am living with. I am thankful for all the sweet little babies who have entered the world that I am an Auntie to. I’m thankful that Jesus came and covered my disgusting and sinful heart, and that one day I will be united with Him and will bow before Him and worship Him as He rightly deserves. I’m thankful for the lessons that I am learning right now about the trinity… trying to better understand God and the fullness of who He is. How the Trinity and Spirit go hand in hand with God… I’m thankful for the people who have poured into my life in the past, and helped me get to where I am now. Even if I mourn old friendships and relationships, I’m thankful that I was able to taste the goodness of Jesus through them. I look forward to the new friendships that will develop here in this small town…

What are you considering that brings joy to your own heart? It is hard for me to be joyful always… but the more I cling to Jesus, and continue to realize that He is Enough… the more excited and grateful and humble I become. I’m thankful that I am in constant motion of being shaped and molded by His hands…

Without Jesus;

I’m nothing.
